This wine is a versatile blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc from the Seehof winery. The two grape varieties have a similar family tree and also share some characteristics. Nevertheless, they are often cuvéed for good reasons. The Chardonnay brings the structure and the Pinot Blanc the accessible fruit and freshness. Full, juicy, material texture, the limestone soil is easy to feel. Pear, apple peel, hazelnut, chopped herbs, and some citrus. Uncomplicated and very balanced, the cuvée goes very well with white meat, fried trout, or stewed vegetables.

The Seehof winery in the famous Rhine-Hessian wine town of Westhofen is run by the Fauth family in the fifth generation. Fauth's son Florian is responsible for the winemaking and the style of the wines and father Ernst takes care of the care of the vineyards. Over a thousand years old, the Seehof itself is a small piece of cultural history. Fauth relies on fully ripe grapes, a strict selection, a lot of manual work, and a clear elaboration of the profile of the Westhofen locations such as Morstein and Kirchspiel. Of course, it's all about the terroir hero Riesling, but the Fauths also score highly with grape varieties like Scheurebe or Auxerrois, and with wines like the incredible Pinot Noir Rosé, which sells out quickly for this reason. We've been working with Florian's wines for a long time and can say with great certainty: They have always been good ambassadors for their Westhofen terroir, but are still getting better and better and are now clearly at the top of the region.

Bottler: Weingut Seehof Familie Fauth, Seegasse 20, 67593 Westhofen, Germany
