Mestres – Bodega Mestres is a historic, family-run Cava house from Sant Sadurní d’Anoia (Catalonia), with roots dating back to 1312. Officially established under the Mestres name in 1861, the estate became a pioneer in 1945 by releasing “Visol,” the first Brut Nature Cava without dosage. The winery is renowned for artisanal craftsmanship, exceptionally long aging (often decades on the lees), barrel fermentation, and hand riddling and disgorgement. With their innovative La Cavateca project, Mestres introduced a third stage of maturation after traditional cellaring – with lees aging of up to 40 years, creating unmatched complexity and depth. Today, Mestres is regarded as a benchmark for gastronomic Cava of great elegance and finesse.
