The masterminds behind this extraordinary project are the French-Canadian couple Ethné and Philippe de Vienne, who have been running their spice shop in Montréal since 2004. Both have a close relationship with spices and herbs since their childhood. Ethné grew up in Trinidad with Caribbean cuisine. Philippe grew up with French cooking in his family's country house on the Loire. After starting a catering company, they recognized that the local supermarkets and shops only had spices of dubious and inferior quality. From necessity and passion, the idea of ??the Spice Trekkers was born. Since then, they have been looking for the best spices all over the world. They engage in personal communication and cultural exchange with the producers and thus establish their direct, long-term partnerships. The spices from the Spicetrekkers are always whole and should be freshly ground before cooking. As a result, the aromas are retained for a long time and the spices are able to develop their full taste. Someone, who freshly grinds his coffee at home, knows what we're talking about.
