Calmel & Joseph Le Bric à Brac Saint Chinian AOP Languedoc-Roussillon 2020
An elegant wine with a deep red color and seductive shine. On the nose, it reveals a harmonious interplay of fruity and spicy notes. Aromas of ripe plums and figs meet the rich depth of black olives and the fine kick of black pepper.
On the palate, the wine is vibrant and expressive. Mediterranean aromas of thyme, tapenade, and garrigue add aromatic depth, while fruity nuances of blackcurrant and crushed wild strawberry bring a fresh, juicy complexity. A characterful wine with impressive balance and a long finish.
Domaine Calmel & Joseph is a former estate in the Languedoc, first mentioned in a document dated July 26, 1577, referring to the nobleman Jehan de Calmès, Lord of Saint Jullia. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 240 to 300 meters, within 160 contiguous hectares, in a remarkable geographic location at the entrance to the Val de Dagne, at the foot of the Alaric mountain range and the Hautes Corbières. The cultivated plots are surrounded by diverse forests and Mediterranean scrubland. The gently rolling hills and valleys, primarily composed of sandy clay and limestone with limestone rock, allow each type of vegetation to find its ideal location and optimal exposure. The estate is located at the intersection of the terroirs of Corbières, Limoux, Malpère, Cabardès, and Minervois, benefiting from a complex mix of geological and climatic influences.
