Noval Tawny Port Douro
Tawny Ports are aged in the barrel a little longer than Ruby Ports. Due to the longer contact with oxygen, their aroma is quite different - less fruity and sweet. Intense and harmonious on the nose. In the mouth dried cherries, roasted coffee, toast and berries. Very nice with aged hard cheese.
Quinta do Noval is one of the most renowned port wine makers and has a long history. The first mention of Noval wines dates back to 1715! In the middle of the Douro Valley with its magnificent terraced steep slopes, Quinta do Noval produces outstanding port wine of all quality levels. Not only are the grapes harvested in the Douro Valley, but also the wines are processed and stored there - which is rarely done as usually the grapes are transported to the warehouses in Vila Nova de Gaia near the Atlantic estuary. A special treat for special days!
