This blend of Chardonnay and Weißburgunder is a real classic from the Knipser winery. It is not without reason that this wine can be found on innumerable restaurant menus. Always balanced and harmonious, not too loud, but also not too reserved. The wine is characterized by a pleasant fruitiness, which is exactly on the point, without dominating accompanying dishes. Rather medium-bodied, beautiful yellow-fruity nose, and slightly herbaceous. Ripe cox orange on the palate, some hazelnut, and a touch of creaminess. A very versatile food companion, from Wiener Schnitzel to fried chicken: everything is possible.

The Knipsers from Laumersheim in Northern Palatinate operate one of the most renowned German wineries. Some of their great wines are icons of German viticulture, but also their base wines are of a quality that's rarely found. Their wines are always ready to drink when they go on sale, which is really nice. The reason for this is that the wines have been given as much time in the cellar as they needed. This way, even a 'Gutswein' can have matured for a few years until it's harmonious enough to leave the winery. The core quality of the Knipsers, however, is that they master every discipline: from fresh white wine to 'Große Gewächse' (grand crus) to fine sweet wines, from rosé to Spätburgunder to Syrah – the Knipsers do them all, and do them all well!
