Michael Wenzel Fränk Wild+Free Burgenland 2023
A fun natural wine made from Blaufränkisch with some Pinot Noir. A light, tasty red wine in the style of a Beaujolais with maceration carbonique. Fresh red berries, cherries, raspberries, some pepper make you go for the second glass - and just like that the bottle is finished!

Michael Wenzel
The Wenzel family has been growing wine in the region around Rust am Neusiedlersee for generations - they live and breathe Burgenland wine history through and through. Since Michael took over the winery from his father, he has continued to lead the wines with a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity in the direction of near-natural and minimal intervention. This Blaufränkische from limestone deposits gets by with very little sulphur and is unfiltered.
