Marco e Vittorio Adriano Barbera d'Alba DOC Piemont 2022
Adriano's simple Barbera d'Alba comes from the first vineyards that belonged to the family, just at the back of the house. With this wine, they pay great attention to freshness, which is why the wine matures 100% in stainless steel. In the nose, there are plum, cassis, some chocolate. In the mouth, it's strong and round but always balanced by harmonious acidity.
Sometimes all you want is a really good glass of wine. Then the Adrianos are just the right place for you. Brothers Marco and Vittorio Adriano run a classic Piedmontese family business, where everyone, from grandfather Aldo to daughter Michela, is involved in the winemaking. During a visit, you will immediately notice how satisfied they are to be able to work together as a family. The estate is located in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, just outside the truffle capital Alba. In 1994 the Adrianos started bottling and marketing their own wine. The hard work has paid off, as now 30 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of hazelnuts are cultivated sustainably. Marco works long hours in the vineyards and sometimes even brings along a truffle or two from his tours. Vittorio, on the other hand, takes care of the ageing of the wines, which mature in the imposing brick cellar in large wooden barrels made of French and Slavonian oak. The Adrianos are absolute Barbaresco specialists, but also make very harmonious Barberas that are worth every cent.
