Franz Gojer Lagrein Granat Südtirol 2022
The Gojers get a lot of praise for their wonderfully full, smooth and incredibly juicy Lagrein. Lagrein is an autochthonous grape variety of South Tyrol, its origin is thought to be in the area of Bolzano, so home advantage for the Glögglhof. Their Lagrein garnet tastes of ripe blackberries, blueberries, red flowers and light cocoa. Nice spicy, velvety texture, rather soft with moderate acidity. Goes really well with stews.

Franz Gojer
The Gojer family’s winery, called Glögglhof, is situated in between vineyards, just above the city of Bolzano. Florian Gojer and his father Franz represent a straight, no frills wine style that clearly shows their home Alto Adige and the varietal character of their wines. For a long time, the Gojers were known for their wines from Schiava and Lagrein but in the meantime they have garnered accolades for their white wines from Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Kerner as well. The alpine origine is always noticeable in the wines with their freshness and vibrant acidity. At the same time they always show great aromatic concentration and their sunny character. That’s how we like wines from Alto Adige!
