Zweigelt Kieselstein by Claus Preisinger already reveals by its name which soil shaped the wine. Its cool, juicy cherry fruit and intense aromas characterise this wine, and it's slightly tart and slim at the same time. Aged for eight months on full yeast in large wooden barrels, it is bottled unfiltered. A great red wine for every occasion.
Claus Preisinger's wines from Gols in Burgenland have been with us for a long time and inspire us year after year. Within a few years, Claus has developed a very independent style among Austrian winegrowers. Near the shores of Lake Neusiedl, he relies on biodynamic work methods with a lot of manual labour in the vineyard and well-considered relaxation in the cellar. He dispenses with cultivated yeasts, enzymes, and additives, and his wines are not filtered and hardly any of them are sulfurized. This also made his wines more clear, puristic, and exciting over the years. Claus now mainly relies on regional grape varieties, such as Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Blaufränkisch, or Grüner Veltliner.
