Michael Wenzel - Blaufränkisch aus dem Kalk - unfiltered
What's that good for?
The Wenzel family has been growing wine in the region around Rust am Neusiedlersee for generations - they live and breathe Burgenland wine history through and through. Since Michael took over the winery from his father, he has continued to lead the wines with a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity in the direction of near-natural and minimal intervention. This Blaufränkische from limestone deposits gets by with very little sulphur and is unfiltered.
How does it taste?
This entry-level wine shows what grape variety and winegrower can achieve together. Fine flower aromas, rose and violet - paired with sour cherry, plum and clove. It is slightly tart and enchanting with its fresh acidity.
