2016 Griesel & Compagnie Sekt Pinot Prestige Brut Nature Hessische Bergstraße
Cellar master Niko Brandner shows us that there is more to German sparkling wine than Rotkäppchen & Co. Griesel Pinot Prestige Brut nature is a white Spätburgunder sparkling wine that spent three years on the lees. Then it was bottled as Brut nature, i.e. without one gram of sugar in the dosage. Nevertheless, the Pinot Prestige always remains charming and convinces with a great drinking flow. On the nose, it is complex and spicy. In the mouth, the Pinot Prestige is beautifully fresh with citrus and tart yeast notes. It has a lot of pressure and a long finish. We find this impressive. And it was also what the tasters from magazine falstaff thought when they awarded the Pinot Prestige first place in the category "Germany - Blanc de Noirs" in 2020.
